Carpentry teacher, Paul Flowers, and his Spanish-speaking students from 5th and 6th block, were looking for ways to earn some money so that a few of the students could pay their registration fees for the state Skills USA competition. People often call CCTC requesting that students fix an item or build an item, however, for a request to be honored, it must directly relate to the specific skills currently being taught during class. Mrs. Dodd had mentioned that she would like a “wishing well” for her back yard. She provided a picture of what she was looking for to Mr. Flowers. Mr. Flowers and his students have been working with miter saws and cutting baseboards at angles. Mr. Flowers had his students clean-up and plane some wood donated by Custom-Built, and after just a couple of days they presented their work to Mrs. Dodd. Pictured are the following: Juan Alexis Gonzalez, Miguel Guzman, Christian Tovar, Abner Perez, and Mr. Paul Flowers.
